MREs, IMPs and such

A short foreword. I'm not going to talk about all US guys and girls. I saw many badass US citizens, and I know that there are more like them back in the US. I just want to post a small note about not-so-badass folks I saw during my activities.

I always wondered why some of US staff members were so... picky about their food? I heard comments like 'What? Beef jerky again? Aw, maaan!' on a daily basis. Or 'Lemon drink? Ew. Who wants my lemon drink?' (or was it 'lemonade'?) My guys and I were always like 'Ow, really...' Maybe it was a difference in cultures, or maybe they were too spoiled by easy-to-get supplies, but such behaviour was strange for us to observe.

I sooo dreamed to leave them alone in a middle of nowhere for a week or so without any food. I was young and a bit sadistic, so right now I'm quite ashamed of those fantasies. But back then it seemed like a good idea to teach them to respect their food.

Don't pay attention, I'm just ranting. Saw a youtube video of another 'survivalist' and his attempts at eating MRE. It brought some memories.
